Yesterday we took a peep at the new BeoVision 4-103 with the first details on the set as well as an interesting video. Today Bang & Olufsen has let us release official information about the enormous plasma-Tv.

The BeoVision 4 103-inch plasma TV incorporates state-of-the-art performance within audio, video, magical moving mechanics and intelligent home integration; all completely controlled with the Beo5 remote control.

With the launch of the BeoVision 4 103-inch television, Bang & Olufsen takes a quantum leap towards the ultimate flat screen TV. Not only is BeoVision 4 103-inch one of the biggest TVs on the market, it is also the only giant TV to come with a stand that can lift the TV at the touch of a button and also turn and tilt it to the optimal viewing position.

- “BeoVision 4 is not only an outstanding top of the range TV; it is also a truly unique product concept. As such, it provides a strong brand statement, and confirms Bang & Olufsen’s position as the world’s leading AV-provider,” said CEO Karl Kristian Hvidt Nielsen.

Powerful and discreet
Placed on a motorized floor stand, BeoVision 4-103 represents a whole new approach to the placement of a giant flat screen TV. The screen itself will rest only inches above the floor when the TV is not in use, thus reducing its prominence in the room and concealing all integrated applications.

When the TV is turned on, the screen will elegantly elevate itself to the optimal viewing position, and the seamlessly integrated BeoLab 10 centre loudspeaker will emerge underneath the screen, moving forward until it is flush with the front frame of the screen. At the same time, the screen will turn and tilt according to the user’s preferences. When the TV goes into standby mode, the whole process is repeated in reverse; all at the touch of a button on the Beo5 remote control.

All-purpose TV
The size of the carefully crafted 103” screen with its high-grade aluminium frame is impressive, but it becomes even more impressive when the screen starts to move in a powerful, sturdy fashion. The movements of the screen and speaker are accelerated and decelerated in the process to underline the muscular progress, and the initial lift of the screen is timed with the start up time of the BeoSystem 3 picture and surround sound engine, which is about eighteen seconds. The hallmark electronic curtains are then pulled aside while the BeoLab 10 centre loudspeaker is moving forward into position.

BeoVision 4-103 is by nature mainly suited for home cinema viewing owing to its exceptional picture quality and its significant size. However, this TV incorporates a range of picture improvement technologies, such as automatic picture control and an anti-reflection coated contrast screen, which also enhances the viewing experience during daytime viewing.

BeoVision 8-40 offers a superior integrated surround sound solution which makes it possible to connect up to 14 BeoLab speakers.

Centre of intelligent home
This new TV concept is the cornerstone in the intelligent home as it is a fantastic hub for combining audio and video experiences with other home automation systems. To many customers, home automation is becoming more and more interesting, and due to increasingly sophisticated interfaces, Bang & Olufsen customers can actually control and operate all their A/V and home automation equipment from the programmable Beo5 remote control all over the house. Control of light settings plus access to security systems, ventilation, curtains, pool cover, burglar alarm etc. are only some of the countless possibilities.
