First impressions with Toshiba’s no-glasses 3DTVs

Engadget.com has posted their first impressions with Toshiba’s new glasses free 3DTVs that will be available later this year in 20 and 12 inches. And they’re not very positive.

Engadget’s verdict

Earlier this week we announced that Toshiba has unveiled two new 3DTVs that doesn’t require 3D glasses. These are exhibited on the CEATEC fair in Japan and the tech site Engadget.com has taken a closer look at these.

To summarize:
  • Two distinct perspectives in the pictures from some angles
  • Notebook with the 3D panel has minimal depth
  • 12-inch 12GL1 huge disappointment and too low resolution
  • Fast paced footage doesn’t work (so no movie watching…)
  • 56-inch concept prototype best performer
  • Fair picture at 720p
  • No headaches
  • Viewing angles better than expected
