Apple TV update
Yesterday Apple released update 4.3 for their black Apple TV box that was introduced last year.
Apple TV is a streaming box. It has just received a new software update
The update adds the option to playback purchased TV shows from iTunes in HD resolution – a feature that has not been activated in the past. In addition, already-owned TV shows can be re-downloaded on all Apple devices via Apple iCloud. TV shows usually cost 2.99 USD and rentals cost 99 cents.
The move is seen as part of Apple’s new iCloud strategy and when iCloud becomes fully available it is believed that Apple TV will receive even deeper integration.
The update also adds access to Vimeo. Vimeo is a free video service where enthusiastic users can share their own-produced videos with a large community.
Apple TV sells for 98 USD through Amazon. Recent sales numbers indicate that Apple sells approximately 500.000 per quarter, making Apple TV one of the most popular TV boxes available today.
