Apple revealed their new 27-inch LED Cinema Display back in July 2011 with a release date “within 60 days”. The Thunderbolt-equipped monitor is now shipping and the first customers have received their parcel.

The new 27” LED Cinema Display is the first monitor to support Thunderbolt, which allow users to daisy-chain monitors with a serial connection between a Mac and 2 monitors (Macbook Air only supports 1 monitor).

The monitor comes with IPS panel, LED backlight, built-in FaceTime HD video camera, 2560x1440 resolution, a 2.1 speaker system, an integrated MagSafe charger, three USB 3.0 ports, one Firewire 800 port, one Gigabit Ethernet port and a Thunderbolt port for daisy chaining up to five additional Thunderbolt devices.
Apple’s 27” monitor is now available in Apple stores and websites. It is also available from Amazon US. The monitor requires a Macbook or iMac with Thunderbolt.
