After Disney has seen success with the re-released The Lion King in 3D, Disney has decided to convert more Classics to 3D. In 2012 and 2013 viewers can expect Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., and The Little Mermaid in 3D.

Disney has seen a fair amount of success with the 3D release of the The Lion King that finished third on the Box Office list in the US this past weekend.

And Disney has an appetite for more it seems. In 2012 and 2013 Disney will be bringing 4 new Classics in 3D to movie theatres. We are talking about Beauty and the Beast (January 13, 2012), Pixar’s Finding Nemo (September 14, 2012) and Monsters, Inc. (January 18, 2013), and The Little Mermaid (September 13, 2013).

Disney promises that we will not see rushed 3D conversions and they aim to make them almost as impressive as real 3D animation movies. What do you think? Are you prepared to seeing your childhood memories go 3D?
