The OUYA game console came out of nowhere. It started as a Kickstarter-backed project and has since shown great potential. OUYA will finally be available to buy on June 4 for just $99.
OUYA to launch on June 4 for $99
The OUYA game console is based on Android and promises a more diverse game experience with games from both major game studios and indie game developers. The people behind OUYA even hope to take on the popular PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
The OUYA game console
The OUYA is a living room game console that can be connected to the living room TV via HDMI. The controller has a similar design to what we are accustomed to from the current consoles. The box is very tiny and can also be used for some of the popular media center solutions. All games also have some kind of free-to-play demo mode so you can try them before buying. OUYA has not released a full list of games but says that we can expect to see some solid AAA-titles available at launch, including apps such as XBMC.
Developers will start receiving the OUYA console over the coming weeks and it will be available to buy in stores such as Amazon and Best Buy on June 4, 2013. It will cost just $99.
