The James Bond Collection is now available on iTunes, remastered in 4K resolution, for $15 dollars per title. This is the first time that the collection has been released in 4K.
1962 to present
All of the James Bond movies, from 1962 to present, have been remastered in 4K resolution. Many of them have been ready for years, just waiting to be released.
For the first time, you can now watch 007 in 4K resolution at home as the remastered James Bond Collection has arrived on iTunes. 24 titles are available to purchase for $15 each but there is no rental option yet. The only one missing from the collection is ’Never Say Never Again’ from 1983.
The movies are not offered in HDR.
The collection has yet to be announced for release on UHD Blu-ray
The collection has yet to be announced for release on UHD Blu-ray disc so it appears that Apple has received exclusivity – at least for a period of time.
Earlier this week, The Nolan Collection arrived on iTunes in 4K Dolby Vision, despite being ”only” HDR10 on UHD Blu-ray. It seems that Apple is gaining leverage with Hollywood studios after the release of the Apple TV 4K.
FlatpanelsHD maintains a full list of 4K HDR titles on iTunes.
