Samsung has yet to officially announce QD-OLED TVs but the 65-inch has already won a 2022 CES Innovation Award as it "represents the next frontier in home entertainment".

Samsung QD-OLED is real

Samsung has unveiled new LCD TVs at CES 2022. Many had expected the world's largest TV maker to also announce OLED TVs, specifically the QD-OLED variant, but they have yet to appear. Samsung changed its plans in the element hour, according to reports from Korea. However, there is no longer any doubt that Samsung QD-OLED TVs are real as CES has awarded the 65-inch QD-OLED TV from Samsung a 'Best of Innovation' 2022 award, as first spotted by CNET. - "Samsung’s 65” QD-Display TV is the world’s first true RGB self-emitting Quantum Dot OLED display—revolutionizing TV by combining the contrast levels of RGB OLED with the color and brightness of quantum dots for ultimate visuals," the announcements reads. "The QD-Display TV combines a groundbreaking new QD-OLED display with Samsung’s gorgeous Infinity One Design and immersive Object Tracking Sound technology." QD-OLED finally brings real competition to the OLED TV segment. To date, all OLED TVs from all brands have used LG DIsplay's WOLED panel type. QD-OLED is a new panel type that uses blue OLED with quantum dot color converters for red and green. Also read: What is QD-OLED?
