After launching on LG Smart TVs in the US and Canada, the Discovery+ app is now also rolling out in Europe countries.
Discovery+ on LG TVs
It has taken a while but Discovery+ is now available from the content store on LG's webOS Smart TVs in at least parts of Europe. FlatpanelsHD has confirmed with LG and users that the app is rolling out in multiple European countries but we do not have an exhaustive list yet.
The app came to the US and Canada in late 2021 and early 2022, respectively.
The app is compatible with LG Smart TVs from 2018 (webOS 4.0) and onwards. webOS is not receiving updates so it is not compatible with older LG Smart TVs that launched on webOS 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0.
Discovery+ is a subscription streaming service offering sports, reality, documentaries, series and other TV content.
The Discovery+ app was already available on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs (2017+), and Vizio Smart TVs. Discovery+ in Europe supports streaming in up to 1080p HD.
Discovery+ will later merge with HBO Max but until that happens you can continue to use the separate apps.
