Philips (TP Vision) and The Explorers have announced a partnership to give users free access to 4K HDR nature videos, to pre-install the app on new TVs and to help preserve scarlet macaws.

Owners of Philips Android TVs and Philips Saphi-based Smart TVs from 2019 or later can get a free 4-month trial. The Explorers app encompasses hundreds of nature, animal, cultural, and human heritage videos in 4K HDR.

Watching this content makes you live the adventure as if you were part of it. Especially when watched on a Philips TV, combining state-of-the-art picture quality with Earth’s magnificent colours splashing of your screen, thanks to Ambilight," the company said.

The Explorers is one of the first streaming services to offer content in 8K but it is currently available only on 8K Roku TVs. Philips will launch its first 8K TVs later.

The app will come pre-installed on 2022 Philips TVs. You can also use the app on your tablet and smartphone.

The free 4-month trial can be redeemed by downloading and opening The Explorers app on your Philips TV. The offer will be highlighted on the app's home screen. It applies to Philips TVs throughout Europe and South America. The offer must be redeemed by December 31, 2022, and it renews at €3/month after the trial.

In addition, Philips will start using the content in retail demonstrations and contribute to a project of The Explorers Foundation to help protect and restore the scarlet macaw wild populations in Honduras in Central America. You can learn more about the project on theexplorers.com.
