To mark the debut of House of the Dragon, HBO Max will also make all eight seasons of Game of Thrones available for streaming in up to 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Update 1.8.2022: All eight seasons of Game of Thrones are now available in 4K on HBO Max in all regions.
Game of Thrones is already available on UHD Blu-ray and starting in August you will also be able to enjoy the hit series in the highest video and audio quality on HBO Max (although UHD Blu-ray will still give you higher bitrate).

- "All eight seasons of the HBO hit GAME OF THRONES arrive on HBO Max in 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on the ad-free plan and supported devices. New episodes of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON will also debut in these advanced formats," announced HBO Max.

Update: HBO Max has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the shows will be available in 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in all HBO Max regions around the world.


 House of the Dragon is an upcoming prequel spin-off of GoT

Supported devices include Android TV, Apple TV 4K, Chromecast Ultra, Cox (Contour 2, Stream Player), Fire TV (Stick 4K, Cube), Google TV, LG TVs, Samsung TVs, Roku (Ultra 4800x,4k TVs, Premiere, Stick+),Vizio TVs, Xbox (One S, One X, Series X|S), and Xfinity/XClass devices (X1, Flex). HBO Max is recommending a 50+ Mbps internet connection.

In the past, only movies were available to enjoy in 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos on HBO Max.

The company has not put an exact date on the availability of Game of Thrones in 4K but the new spin-off series House of the Dragon will debut on August 21, 2022.
