LG Electronics has today unveiled six new OLED gaming monitors for 2024 including flat 27 and 32-inch monitors and four curved monitors spanning 34 to 45 inches. The star of the show is the flat 32-inch 32GS95UE that boasts 4K resolution at 240Hz with an option to run 480Hz at Full HD resolution for fast-paced games. 480Hz OLED will likely set a new standard for gaming monitor performance. - "The groundbreaking 32GS95UE is the first UltraGear monitor equipped with the new Dual-Hz feature, allowing users to switch between 4K (3,840 x 2,160) at 240Hz and Full-HD (1,920 x 1,080) at 480Hz with one simple click. This time-saving innovation, easily managed via a hotkey or joystick’s directional switch, lets users instantly apply the optimal combination of screen resolution and refresh rate for the genre of game they’re playing. For fast-paced action titles and shooting games, users can select FHD 480Hz, while visually rich story-driven games can be enjoyed in 4K 240Hz," explained LG. Another new feature of 32GS95UE is 'Pixel Sound' technology where the speakers are integrated in the OLED panel itself, similar to Acoustic Surface in Sony's OLED TVs.27" 1440p & UltraWide monitors
LG Electronics also announced a new flat 27-inch 27GS95QE with 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate as well as four 21:9 UltraWide OLED monitors in 34, 39 and 45 inches, all curved with 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. All six OLED monitors feature two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4. They support HDR but LG only cited the confusing and often misleading VESA DisplayHDR specification, suggesting that only HDR10 is supported. Both of the branded VRR flavors, FreeSync and G-Sync Compatible, are supported.Faster PC gaming in HDR
The OLED monitors will be available in 2024 and help elevate PC gaming that has for years been held back by the poor picture quality of mainly IPS LCD panels. OLED is inherently significantly faster and more importantly delivers HDR pictures. - "LG’s new lineup of UltraGear OLED gaming monitors elevates the gaming experience with groundbreaking technologies and a variety of sizes and form factors," said YS Lee, VP and head of the IT business, LG Electronics Business Solutions.
