TCL's 115" is also heading to Europe as part of X955 range

16 Jan 2024 | Rasmus Larsen |

The 115-inch miniLED LCD TV, which was unveiled for North America at CES, is also heading to Europe as part of the flagship X955 range. It is expected to cost 15000–20000 Euro.

From a technical standpoint, it will be the exact same TV in North America (QM891G) and Europe (X995) just with two different model names. Same panel, same miniLED backlight, same chip (MediaTek).

The news was confirmed to FlatpanelsHD by TCL Europe's Marek Maciejewski, Product Development Director Europe.

As you may recall, the 98-inch X955, which FlatpanelsHD recently had a chance to measure and examine, features 5184 miniLED dimming zones and reaches over 5000 nits of peak brightness. The 115-inch version features over 20000 miniLED dimming zones and over 5000 nits peak brightness, according to TCL. FlatpanelsHD saw the display in action at CES 2024, showing demo content – no movies or games. It delivered promising picture quality, far surpassing the performance of a typical projector, particularly in the area of contrast. However, blooming was still noticeable despite the high number of dimming zones.

Will launch in Q1 or Q2

Other features include 4K resolution, Google TV, the more powerful 'AIPQ Ultra' processor, a 6.2.2ch sound system with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, 144Hz, Game Accelerator 240 for 240Hz at 1080p, HDMI 2.1 with 4K120 and VRR, and WiFi 6. TCL Europe informed us that the 115X955 is expected to launch in Europe by the end of Q1 at the earliest or sometime in Q2 with a suggested retail price of between 15000 and 20000 Euro.
