This is not the first curved PC monitor, but it is the first one from Dell. The 34-inch U3415W is slightly curved and uses the 21:9 aspect ratio.
Dell U3415W is curved
We first heard about the U3415W late last year, but at that time it looked like a regular flat monitor. It turns out that Dell has actually been planning the curved monitor for quite some time.
Dubbed U3415W, the 34-inch monitor has an extra-wide 21:9 format and 3440x1440 pixel resolution, which offers lots of desktop space. Dell believes that the curve makes sense because you sit so close to your PC monitor.
Only few details about the U3415W are known at this point, but it looks like an IPS panel. It is said to feature only HDMI, DisplayPort, and mini DisplayPort inputs. The stand is adjustable and it has built-in 9 W speakers.
In addition, Dell has announced the new 24” S2415H and 27” S2715H monitor. Both come with IPS panels, glossy coatings and a slim-frame (6mm) design. These are inexpensive all-round monitors.
Dell U3415W will be available in December. No pricing details have been announced.
