Dell to release 34" 21:9 U3415W soon - rumor

Rumors surrounding a 34-inch monitor from Dell in the extra-wide 21:9 format have intensified in recent days. The so-called U3415W is expected to launch soon with a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels and an IPS panel.

Dell to release 34" 21:9 monitor soon

Dell has recently introduced a range of new 4K monitors, but has yet to confirm this monitor. The U3415W is not a 4K monitor, but is rumored to instead pack 3440x1440 pixels in the 21:9 aspect ratio.

The first rumors actually started surfacing in July, but have intensified in recent days. The panel is said to be an IPS type, sourced from LG.Display. Dell is already selling a 29-inch 21:9 monitor, so a 34-inch version appears to be a natural extension of that line.

The report claims to know that Dell will release the U3415W in “December or later”, but the model name suggests that it is actually a 2015 model, so might have to wait a bit longer.
