Samsung 9-series launch - with impressions
Samsung’s 9 series has officially hit the shelves in most countries now. C9000 is the one of the world's thinnest TV measuring just 7.98 mm in depth. This very interesting 3DTV is based on Danish design traditions, and builds on a development process spanning over a period of many years, where the Korean designers have regularly visited Denmark.Danish design - when less is more
Samsung's new 3D LED-TV in the 9 Series is a TV that attracts attention with a minimal 7.98 mm frame. The ultra-sleek design in brushed steel creates an elegant and minimalistic look, inspired by the Danish design traditions, Samsung says.
But it’s no coincidence. Samsung's designers have regularly visited Denmark to study the unique Danish design culture, in order to learn and experience how the Danes look upon this matter and interract with the everyday products.
Danish design is often characterized by simplicity, functionality and meaning, according to Samsung. And you probably already know great Danish designs such as The Egg, The Swan and the PH-lamps, when talking about furniture
Therefore Samsung decided to start their design focus based on these virtues some years back and here’s the ultimate manifestation of minimalistic and meaningful design, demonstrated by Samsung in stylish surroundings in a private apartment.
For this event Samsung had brought one of the designer correspondents that also take care of the communication between the European division and the Korean division. He took us through a tour starting from the former white R8 Samsung TV to the last chapter in this design journey; the 9 series.Attention to detail completes the design
The 9 series can be placed on furniture or hang on a wall. Because the stand can be detached and mounted to the back of the TV, all inputs and outputs are still available no matter what you choose to do. Another interesting detail is the touch controlled slider at the bottom with buttons that is hidden inside the stand when inactive.
A new dimension in TV
Besides the appealing exterior, the 9 series has also been equipped with most of Samsung’s advanced TV technology. It features a unique remote control, 3D technology, and LED backlight. Below are some highlights.
Samsung’s 9 series is a part of the 3D line-up, and it also allows you to convert 2D to 3D. You can experience both movies and games in 3D with the bundled active 3D glasses.
The 9 series is equipped with the Edge LED technology and a 200/240 Hz picture circuit that aims to improve detailing in moving images.
Samsung's latest platform Internet@TV has been integrated, with access to numerous services including YouTube. C9000 also has access to Samsung’s new Apps platform where new Apps will be added later on.

Premium Touch-remote
An exclusive TV requires an exclusive remote control.
Samsung’s Premium Touch Remote
And with the new 3-inch touch screen Samsung has created a small revolution in remote controls. It’s not just a regular remote - it’s far more than that actually.
Samsung’s Premium Touch Remote
The Premium Touch Remote acts as a small TV. By using the second tuner in the 9 series that wirelessly transfers broadcasts to the remote you can watch your TV stations.

It has DLNA functionality which means that you can playback video from other devices on your local network, look at images or listen to music. And where you’re ready to see it on the large screen you just press the remote.
Samsung demonstrated this remote and the many features. And honestly, it works really well. The small screen is responsive and reacts accurately on finger commands. Below you see us browsing images from a DLNA enabled PC in the home.

And if we find anything interesting we can chose to have it projected onto the actual TV.

The Premium Touch Remote is bundled with the 9 series but you can also buy it separately and use it with all 7 and 8 series “LED” and plasma models. The only feature that is excluded is the TV on remote function.
