CES 2009: Samsungs new thin Blu-Ray player

Samsung has announced the World’s thinnest Blu-Ray player that is only 1.5 inches thick. It’s called BD-P4600 and has a glossy, black design featured in the Touch of Color line.

Samsung BD-P4600 is the thinnest Blu-Ray player announced so far and Samsung has used CES 2009 to present it. It can be wall mounted and it has touch-sensitive buttons.

The Blu-Ray player supports profile 2.0 enabling it to connect to the BD-Live for extra content, movie trailers etc. It also supports DivX and has a 1 GB internal memory cache as well as two USB inputs.

The player can connect to the Internet through the built-in Ethernet port or by using a Wi-Fi USB dongle in one of the two USB ports.

Samsung says that the BD-P4600 supports the new HD audio formats and 1080p24 video output through the HDMI plug.

No word about dates or prices yet. Samsung has also presented a BD-P3600 Blu-Ray player that we will take a closer look at soon.
