Philips integrates Net TV in new TV series

12 Mar 2009 | Rasmus Larsen |

Philips is planning to introduce their new Net TV feature in new TV series soon. The Net TV feature allows users to connect to the Internet for movies, clips, news and more.

Net TV is a new Internet service from Philips that will be featured in the European TV series 8000 and 9000 as well as the Cinema 21:9.
Future Philips series will include the Net TV feature, too, and Philips mentions that all future Ambilight series will feature Net TV.

The Net TV feature can also access the Internet through an Internet browser, although not all pages are optimised for the Philips TVs.

The online service even let’s users access trafic information, news and weather.

The first Philips TV to have the NET feature integrated is the Cinema 21:9 ultra-wide TV that we have looked at in our exclusive preview here:

Other manufacturers such as LG and Samsung have also announced Internet services. These sets will also ship later this year.
