OLED is considered the future for display technology. At the moment Sony is the only one with a real product on the market with their 11-inch XEL-1 OLED-TV. According to sources it seems that Sony will soon get company from LG who is said to release a 15-inch OLED-TV in December 2009.
Engadget has talked to Vice President of OLED at LG, Won Kim, and he indicated that the first OLED display from LG will be on the shelves in time for this year’s Christmas. LG is able to manufacture the product already and Won Kim indicates that LG wishes to launch the 15-inch OLED on some Asian markets this December.
