HP release energy efficient monitors

20 Aug 2009 | Rasmus Larsen |

HP has announced two new monitors in their LE series of power-saving PC monitors. The models named LE1901w and LE2201w are 19 and 22 inches large.

The two new models focus on the greener and eco-friendly philosophy, according to HP. Power consumption in use is low compared to today's standard and the 22-inch model consumes only 30 W. The 19-inch model consumes 22 W. Stand-by energy consumption is 2W, though.

According to HP the secret behind the reduced power consumption is a new type of backlight. HP did not mention if it’s a LED backlight or not.
