Panasonic has announced the world's first 85-inch plasma-TV. It’s launching on IFA 2009 in Berlin at the modest price of 30,000 U.S. dollars
We have previously mentioned that the Panasonic had a new 85 inch panel ready for mass production and it has now given rise to the first real product. It's called Panasonic TH-85P12U and will be launched at IFA 2009.

The model is based on Panasonic’s NeoPDP technology which makes it thinner and more power efficient than other large plasma TV. Panasonic says TH-85P12U has a weight of 118 kilograms and has a depth of 9.9 centimeters. Panasonic also mentions a contrast ratio of 40.000:1.
Anyway, you don’t have to speculate about these numbers if you want the TV because it has the same nice picture quality that the new Panasonic 2009 plasma-TVs reproduce.
The Panasonic TH-85P12U will be available in late 2009.
