IFA 2009: Samsung 82" ultra high-definition LED-TV

Samsung exhibited an 82-inch ultra high-definition LED-TV (LCD with LED backlight) on IFA 2009. The TV has a resolution of 3840x2160 which is four times higher than full HD.
Samsung used IFA 2009 to present their 6 mm thin LED-TV but they also exhibited an impressive 82-inch LED-TV with a resolution four times higher than full HD; 3840x2160.
Samsung 82-inch ultra high-definition LED-TV
The 82-inch prototype is still as slim as other LED-TVs from Samsung because of an Edge LED backlight where LEDs are located along the edges of the TV. The power consumption is therefore also very low compared to other large TVs such as the new 85-inch Panasonic plasma-TV.
The 82-inch LED-TV is still a prototype and exhibited by Samsung to show the potential of the LED backlighting technology. Samsung has no plans to launch the TV market at the moment.
