Eizo release the Foris FX2431 multimedia montior

Eizo has announced that they will launch monitors form home entertainment series called FORIS, starting with the Foris FX2431, a 24” Full HD LCD monitor.

This is the first Foris monitor to be sold outside of Japan since Eizo launched the Foris line in 2004.

Designed by world-renowned industrial designer, Dr. Kazuo Kawasaki, the Foris FX2431 is said to suits any contemporary interior decor. The monitor harmonizes an elegant design with immersive sound and flawless HD video playback via built-in stereo speakers and 1080/24p display capability.Technical specs
Sophisticated yet practical, The Foris FX2431’s versatile connections include dual HDMI inputs to connect with devices such as Blu-ray players, HD game consoles, and computers.
Composite, component and S-Video inputs support signals from audio-visual (AV) equipment such as DVD players, satellite tuners, or Sony’s PSP (PlayStation Portable). Up to four PCs can be connected at once using DVI-D or D-Sub PC inputs and the HDMI inputs. For added versatility, the Foris FX2431’s new “Auto USB Selection” feature and two upstream USB ports.
Video game enthusiasts will appreciate the Foris FX2431’s new and unique “Portable” mode for playing PSP (PlayStation Portable) games across the monitor’s 24-inch, 1920 × 1200 native resolution screen. With an AV connection, 480i/p format and other low reso¬lution games can be displayed at up to twice their original size without distortion. In addition, a new “Real Image” mode reduces pixel blur and displays retro 8-bit games with remarkable clarity.Thru mode ensures no input lag
A “Thru” mode reduces input lag with game signals to approximately one frame or 1/60th of a second. This is equivalent to just one frame of a progressive signal, or two frames of an interlace signal. Thru mode lets gamers to keep up with fast-paced action and instantly react to shoot enemies in games like SEGA’s Bayonetta.1080p24 support
For home cinema viewing, The FORIS FX2431 offers several features for realistic moving image playback. One such feature is 1080/24p display capability. This allows Blu-ray discs and other video formats to playback smoothly without the unwanted motion artifacts or “judder.”
The monitor also features maximum brightness of 360 cd/m2 and midtone (gray-to-gray) response time of 6 ms.Ecological and helpful
To help users enjoy the FORIS FX2431 in an ecologically sound way, “EcoView” features are included as well. The first is EcoView Index which displays the level of power savings in correlation with the monitor’s brightness.
Another is a built-in Auto EcoView ambient light sensor that reduces energy consumption and offers improved visual ergonomics by optimizing the monitor’s screen brightness. To ensure that the FORIS FX2431 won’t contribute to energy bills or its carbon footprint when not in use, the monitor consumes no electricity at all when turned off via its main power switch.Additional Features
