A production equipment manufacturers says that their recent orders suggests that TV manufacturers of OLED panels are readying OLED-TVs up to 42 inches for 2011.
OLED-TVs in 2011
Samsung recently said that they plan to release a 40-42-inch OLED-TV in 2011, and now a source in the industry says that other manufacturers of OLEDs also have something coming.

German Mbraun is a supplier of production equipment, that also sells production equipment used for manufacturing OLED panels. Mbraun has confirmed that they have received orders for production equipment that is capable of manufacturing up to 42-inch OLED-TV panels.
Mbraun is also the supplier of production equipment for both Samsung and LG. Mbraun says:
- "We know that they're currently putting they're systems in place to manufacture televisions on a large scale, although there are still some improvements to be made"
Sony and LG alone so far
Sony and LG are currently the only two companies that have OLED-TV on the market. Sony has their so-called XEL-1 TV in stores which is a tiny 11-inch model. LG’s OLED TV is bigger and measures 15 inches. We also hope to receive this one soon for testing.
Samsung has no OLED-TVs on the market but has exhibited some prototypes and has a large production set up for OLED panels for mobile devices.
Sony XEL-1 OLED
We hope to see the first real OLED-TVs in 2011. The OLED technology is considered the best choice for the future of panel technology, among other things because of a very low response time, very deep black and high contrast ratio, and wide viewing angles.
