Vizio unveils XVT with LED local dimming

The American HDTV company Vizio has unveiled a new range of flat panel TVs called XVT. The XVT range will be released in 32 to 55 inches that all feature LED, Internet services, WiFi and a Bluetooth remote.

Vizio is one of the largest players in the US flat panel TV market today and their new XVT range is also packed with technology. The largest 42, 47 and 55 inch version all feature LED backlight with local dimming.

Vizio mentions a dynamic 10.000.000:1 contrast ratio and 120 local dimming zones on the 42” version (160 zones on the 46”) and a 3 inch deep frame. 240 Hz frame interpolation system has also been incorporated.

The 32 and 37 inch models come with Edge LED backlight which means that these models are slimmer (2 inches) but lack the local dimming functionality.

Vizio has included a Bluetooth QWERTY slide-remote and built-in WiFi. You can also expect Internet access to selected services such as YouTube, Netflix and Pandora.
