Panasonic has presented their first BDXL devices with a range of 6 new BDXL recorders. Three of these are compatible with 3D Blu-ray but all of them have recording capabilities.

BDXL is the next generation of Blu-ray and it will support up to 128 GB BDXL discs compared to 25 GB of the current Blu-ray standard.

In Japan Panasonic has announced 6 BDXL devices with built-in hard drives and twin tuners (except the cheapest one) for recording. The three most expensive recorders are called DMR-BWT3100, DMR-BWT2100 & DMR-BWT1100 and will be available with 500GB, 1TB and 2TB, respectively. These also support 3D Blu-ray.
The three cheaper models are called DMR-BW890, DMR-BW690, and DMR-BR590 and will feature 1TB, 500GB, and 500GB, respectively. These do not support 3D Blu-ray.
Panasonic mentions a September launch in Japan. Still no words on a European or US launch.
