LE925 is Sharp’s new flagship and first 3DTV

On IFA 2010 in Berlin Sharp has unveiled their first 3DTV called LE925. The LE925 range is also packed with interesting technology such as Time Shift recording, Quattron panels, Internet, DLNA, and it features a very slim and stylish design with a glass front.

Sharp LE925 3DTV
Sharp has unveiled their flagship LE925 range. This model will feature all of the technologies from the lesser series and on top of that Sharp has enabled 3D. LE925 is also Sharp’s first 3DTV model.


Sharp LE925 3DTV

LE925 incorporates Sharp’s Quattron pixel technology that is the first one to utilize 4 sub pixel colors in RGBY (red, green, blue, yellow) and not 3 like conventional LCD panels. 3D pictures on LE925 require active 3D glasses from Sharp.

Sharp also claims that their 3D panels has a much higher brightness (required for 3D because the 3D glasses reduce brightness) as well as very low crosstalk to ensure impressive 3D pictures and moving images. Sharp even promises that they can deliver the best 3D picture quality on the market – let’s see. We’ll have a review online later on. 2D-to-3D conversion is also enabled and one pair of 3D glasses will be included.

When it comes to technical specs Sharp LE925 can present Edge LED backlight, 4 HDMI (1 HDMI 1.4), 200/240 Hz, scanning backlights and speakers on 2x10W plus 15W subwoofer.

Time Shift recording and Internet
Sharp will also give the users a option to pause live TV-broadcasts. This is possible because of the Time Shift function and an built-in flash memory.

You can expect access to a number of Internet services to allow internet video content to playback on the TV through the new AQUOS NET+ system, as well as a DLNA system to stream video, music and pictures from another device in your home. A USB port supporting DivX HD is found on the back of the TV.

Finally, Sharp mentions that LE925 has a very slim design because of an Edge LED backlight, with inputs pointing to the side or down. The front is made from glass to give an exclusive look.

Sharp will release the LE925 range in 46, 52, 60, and 68 inches called 46LE925, 52LE925, 60LE925, and 68LE925. Expect it to hit the market in September/October. No prices yet.
