Sharp's first 3D Blu-ray BD-HP90S can lie down or stand

On IFA 2010 Sharp has presented their first 3D Blu-ray player called BD-HP90S. This player opens the world of 3D entertainment and features a new minimalist and interesting design with a construction that allow the player to stand up and lie down flat.

Sharp BD HP90S 3D Blu-ray
Sharp has unveiled their first 3D Blu-ray player together with their first 3D flat panel TV called LE925. BD-HP90S is complementing Sharp's new flat panel design, but also fits with the design of most other new minimalistic LCD-TVs. It’s just 36 mm in height.

The BD-HP90S can lie down and stand up in the included stand. This creates new opportunities as to how you want your electronics placed within the home. The design is also thin and discreet with an overall black and grey look.

Discs are inserted in the front of the player and BD-HP90S easts 3D Blu-ray, 2D Blu-ray, DVD and CD. The player also has built-in WiFi and access to the BD-Live service where you can get movie trailers and extra content.

On the front Sharp has placed a USB port. The player also supports 1080p24 and 1080p upscaling of DVDs. BD-Live is included, too. And naturally, the player also supports the new HD audio formats such as Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio. 

Price and date
Sharp has not communicated an official launch date, but the 3D Blu-ray players is expected to hit the market in Q3. The price will be 400 Euro in Europe. No word on a US release.
