Philips HTS7140 is Philips’ new sound system for flat panel TVs. It uses a so-called Ambisound technology that – according to Philips – can create 5.1 surround sound by projecting the sound through different channels in the soundbar.

HTS7140 has a built-in Blu-ray player that eats 3D Blu-ray discs (after October 1 via firmware update), and the picture quality remains uncompromised compared to stand-alone 3D Blu-ray players. This solution also ensures that you only need one cable from the soundbar to your TV.
The soundbar has a sleek design with a metal finish, targeted at flat panel TVs of 40 inches an above. Philips also mentions that the soundbar has support for the HD audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master, and that internet is incorporated. You can also connect an iPod cradle.
