LG’s 180" 3D plasma TV that wasn’t

Before IFA LG announced that they would exhibit a 180 inch plasma TV at the fair. We were excited to see this but unfortunately the 180” plasma-TV wasn’t really a 180 inches TV.

180" 3D plasma TV from LG
Yes, LG did exhibit a 180 inches screen displaying 3D with 3D glasses but the big screen was comprised of 9 smaller plasma TVs.


LG 180” Multi Vision

The large screen was showing different 3D clips that required 3D glasses and as we have said before 3D is better on large TVs, but I also advise you to drop that idea to pair four 50 inch 3D plasma TVs in your living room, because the borders between the TVs are not really contributing to the impression of 3D depth.

Each year, manufacturers run a small race to exhibit the largest TV in the world. Panasonic is still the winner with their 152 inches plasma TV. Let’s see what happens next year.
