Eizo unveils FS2331 – 23” VA monitor

Eizo has unveiled a new 23-inch monitor called FS2331. The monitor has a new design and a VA panel with very good picture characteristics. FS2331 is introduced in the Foris range meaning that it targeted at entertainment, gaming, video and photo editing. Expect a review soon.

Eizo has announced their new Foris FS2331 monitor. It’s based on a quality VA (S-PVA) panel with a static contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a 1920x1080 resolution in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

The Foris range aims to satisfy users that do video and photo editing but also like multimedia, movies and gaming. To reduce response time to 7 ms (g2) Eizo has incorporated a Overdrive circuit.

The monitor comes with 2xHDMI, DVI and analogue D-SUB (VGA) inputs. The HDMI inputs also allow the user to connect devices such as a Blu-ray player and a gaming console. To optimize the gaming console experience Eizo gives the user the freedom to select from different aspect ratios.

Foris FS2331 also incorporates different picture technologies to improve picture quality to the much acclaimed Eizo standard. These include 10 bit LUT (look-up table), different color presets (User1, User2, sRGB, Paper, Game, Cinema, Auto Fine Contrast) and a range of picture setting options.

New customizable design
FS2331 has received a facelift. The new design has a slimmer profile and speakers at the bottom. The line running below the picture is used for affixing red, gray or blue stripes. These color strips are included in the box.

Because of the multimedia functionality FS2331 is bundled with a remote control that can control screen size, volume and input selection. The internal speakers deliver 2x0.5W and a headphone jack is included.

“We expect it to appeal to a wide range of consumers who are looking for a stylish monitor on which they can enjoy gaming, watching movies, photo editing, and reading ebooks.”

Finally, Eizo mentions a new Paper Mode that improves reading capabilities and reduces eyestrain.

23-inch Eizo Foris FS2331 will be available soon. The price has not been announced but for more information see www.eizo.com. FlatpanelsHD will soon receive this monitor so expect a review.
