If you’re not pleased with the 16:9 aspect ratio and having to sacrifice the extra vertical pixels, Samsung might have a solution for you. Samsung has announced two new monitors in the 16:10 format called 2243DW and 2443DW.

Some years ago almost every monitor used the 16:10 format but in the recent years most new monitors have been introduced with the 16:9 aspect ratio due to the TV / PC convergence.

Samsung is now releasing two new monitors with the 16:10 aspect ratio for those users who prefer the extra vertical pixels. The monitors called 2243DW and 2443DW are 22-inches and 24-inches, respectively.
Both monitors use TN panels with 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 resolutions. They also feature a 5 ms response time and 300 cd/m2 brightness, and are equipped with analogue D-SUB (VGA) and digital DVI and DisplayPort inputs.
Expect to see these two new monitors in stores later this month. Samsung 2243DW will be available for 269 Euro ($378) and 2443DW costs 329 Euro ($460).
