Compare TV energy consumption

16 Nov 2010 | Torben Rasmussen |

FlatpanelsHD has measured energy consumption on TVs for years and we have collected all our measurements in this table. It automatically updates every time we publish a new review.

The list automatically updates so feel free to bookmark it. You can find all our reviews here.

You can click on the three tabs to change the view. You can also click the icons at the top of each column to sort the list by the selected parameter.

How to read the table

Out of box is a measurement of a TV's energy consumption right out of the box. Only the light sensor has been deactivated.
Calibrated is a measurements of average energy consumption after our picture calibration. We aim for the same brightness level making it possible to compare TVs.
Power per area is a normalization of energy consumption, which makes it easier to compare data across TV size classes. Remember that the actual value is not meaningful in itself. It should be used only to compare TVs.
Annual cost is the annual cost of using the TV. We have based our calculation on 5 hour daily usage and a energy cost of 14 cents per kWh. We have not included stand-by consumption.
