LG has unveiled a new 22-inch E2290V model that is said to be the world’s slimmest monitor. It has a LED backlight and will be out soon.

Manufacturers are still competing in thickness and size. LG’s new E2290V is just 7.2 mm thick which makes it the thinnest monitor on the market.

The unusual design makes E2290V stand out. The base holds connectivity options such as DVI, D-Sub and HDMI, and the screen itself has a tilt function. The base it made from brushed aluminum for an exclusive look and the screen itself it extremly thin.

E2290V holds a 21.5-inch LCD panel with LED backlight and a 1920x1080 resolution in the 16:9 aspect ratio. LG also mentions a response time of 2 ms (g2g) and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. The monitor is based on a TN panel.

Expect to see the E2290V monitor in stores soon at a suggested retail price of €329 or around $440.
