Users have not exactly been overly satisfied with active shutter 3D glasses in 2010, and Samsung has now addressed a major point of criticism. Samsung has developed new ultra-lightweight 3D glasses that will be showcased at CES 2011 in Las Vegas.

The glasses have been developed in cooperation with Austrian Silhouette. Samsung says that the new 3D glasses are the lightest in the world, weighing only 28g, or about 10g less than the current 3D glasses.
The fit has been adjusted, too. The glasses have a counter-weight at the back resulting in a 50:50 weight ratio, and a new nose-pad. According to Samsung they will fit on adults and children alike because of this new design.

But that’s not all. The glasses have also been developed to automatically detect 3D content and turn off and on accordingly. They even recharge the battery at the back wirelessly.
The glasses will be showcased at CES 2011 in a few days. Stay tuned for more information and the price.
