The 3DTVs were introduced in 2010 but in January 2011 there is still not a huge selection of 3D Blu-rays to choose from. Disney plans to change that fact with at least 15 new 3D Blu-ray movies in 2011, including Tron Legacy and Tangled.
The Lion King is coming in 3D in 2011
But Disney also plans to release converted classics in 3D and amongst these we find The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Disney also says that the new 3D releases will be available on the same date as the 2D versions.
Other 2011 titles include: Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare before Christmas, G-Force and Chicken Little.
Each disc will include thematically linked 3D menus, 3D previews of coming-attractions trailers and an introduction to Disney's 3D Blu-ray featuring beloved characters Timon and Pumbaa.
