Panasonic introduces DT30, first 3D LED model

Panasonic has developed 32 and 37 inch IPS Alpha LCD panels with LED and 3D and will introduce their first 3D LCD-TV in a DT30 range. Panasonic plans to launch VIERA 3D LCD-TVs in the North American market this spring and later in the rest of the world.Panasonic 3D LCD-TVs
Panasonic’s new 3D LCD-TV with LED is called DT30 and has been unveiled at CES 2011. The TVs are based on Panasonic’s own IPS Alpha LCD panel technology that now handles 3D.
Panasonic says that their new 3D LCD panels have minimal crosstalk because of the faster response time on the IPS panel. To tackle these challenges, Panasonic made major changes to the whole process of panel making. A newly developed Advanced Pre-Charged Driving technology that achieves a scanning rate of 2 ms and the 240 Hz system should provide users with a great 3D experience.
With the development of the new 3D IPS Alpha LCD panels, Panasonic will add mid-size models to their 3D line-up, with the large-sized 3D plasma-TV to account for the the 42+ segment. To learn more about Panasonic’s 2011 plasma ranges see this article.
Panasonic has also unveiled other LCD-TV ranges with LED backlight and without, including the D30 range, a step down from the DT30 range, and the cheaper E30 range.
In the DT30 and D30 series Panasonic will be integrating their new Viera Connect internet interface with cloud-based content services. They will also feature DLNA with support for video, music and pictures.
Panasonic has worked hard on design which means that a new minimalistic Flush Design has found its way into the DT30 and D30 ranges. The Flush Design has slimmer bezels and the depth of the TVs have been reduced.
