Philips recently announced their new 2011 TVs that also comes with new functionality. One of the new innovative features is Dual View Gaming which basically means that you can use two pairs of 3D-glasses to see two completely different images on one TV - simultaneously.

Sony already talked about a similar dual-view functionality in 2010 but Philips is the first manufacturer to bring it to the market. Philips hopes that their Dual View features will be accepted by PlayStation 3 console gamers.

You have probably already tried multi-player features on PlayStation or Xbox. In most multi-player games the screen is divided into two - either vertically or horizontally.
With Dual View Gaming you can watch completely different images on a TV. It requires 3D glasses but also greatly enhanced the multiplayer experience. The 3D glasses then separate the TV into two different 2D images, one for each player.
At the moment the technology only works with PlayStation 3 because it is the only gaming console with 3D support. Philips has considered expanding the Dual View feature to other areas such as Dual View TV watching but at the moment only gaming is supported. A challenge is also the two separate audio streams, Philips says.
