With the release of Nvidia and AMD's new graphics cards users can connect three monitors to their PC, in order to enable for example gaming in 5760x1200 pixel resolution with three 24-inch monitors.
Three monitors on your desktop
You have been able to connect two monitors to your typical graphic card in your PC for some time. With the next generation of graphic cards you can connect three monitors to create extra wide, extended desktops. This enables gaming in extremely high resolution but might also help you to improve productivity in front of your work computer. AMD’s Eyefinity can even support up to 6 monitors with an extra hub.
Eyefinity supports up to 6 monitors
Both AMD and Nvidia are promoting their new systems called Eyefinity and Surround Vision, respectively. Eyefinity has actually been around for some time but now AMD is starting to promote it.
If you connect three 24-inch monitors you get an impressive 5670x1200 pixel resolution and if you use even bigger screens the pixel count will increase further.
