We have just returned from Rome and Toshiba World 2011. Toshiba had some interesting new products lined up for 2011 but they also revealed that they are planning to launch glasses-free 3D TVs larger than 40-inches within 12 months from now.
Toshiba glasses-free 3D TVs
3D never made it into the limelight in 2010 and even though most new 2011 models come with 3D capabilities consumers seem to take that fact with ease. Toshiba hopes to change that with an innovative move.

Toshiba glasses-free 3D TV
Toshiba has planned 3D TVs with 3D glasses for 2011 but at Toshiba World 2011 they revealed that they have worked hard on developing 3D TVs that does not require glasses.
We have heard that before but the interesting bit here is that Toshiba promised to bring 40-inch or larger no-glasses 3D TVs to market within a 12 month timeframe, which means that we might see it before 2011 is over.
Toshiba has already launched a 20-inch no-glasses 3DTV in Japan in 2010 but with its 2500 USD price tag it is not really a mass market product. Toshiba also exhibited a much larger 3D TV prototype in Rome and we will give you our impressions with the prototype in a later article.
