We wrote that Apple could be working on a HDTV back in July 2010. Since then Apple has introduced their 2. generation Apple TV and now rumors that Apple plans to release a HDTV in late 2011 are intensifying, with a new analyst’s recent findings.
Flat panel TV from Apple?
Apple's recent product launches have generated an extreme level of public attention with many pre-launch rumors and guesses about small details.

Rumors about an Apple HDTV are intensifying
If that is believed to be any indication of forthcoming Apple products, then a coming Apple flat panel TV seems to be real. Analyst Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities claims that he has found strong indications that Apple is preparing a launch of a Smart TV.
The launch of the Apple TV2 is expected to be a precursor. Brian White says:
- "Our research suggests this Smart TV would go well beyond the miniature $99 second-generation Apple TV that the company released last fall and provide a full-blown TV product for consumers”
Brian White continues and says that he believes it to hit the market in the end of 2011 – or maybe 2012. Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray has referred to a HDTV from Apple more than once and even highly respected New York Times has had a story about a coming HDTV from Apple.
Apple's successful ecosystem is expected to be a main driver for a successful new product category from Apple. Apple entered the smartphone market with great success a few years ago and the iPad has also been wildly popular since its introduction in 2010. It’s also believed that Apple plans to focus heavily on the AirPlay features if a HDTV is actually launched. This enables users to stream music, video and pictures from other Apple iOS devices and MAC directly to the HDTV.
So, what do you think?
