LG has announced their coming 20-inch D2000 (called DX2000 in Asia) monitor that does 3D without glasses. D2000 uses a combination of the parallax barrier and a built-in camera that adjusts images according to your position to create the 3D depth perception.

LG already has active and passive 3D monitor available and here comes the latest addition to their line-up; a no-glasses 3D monitor. The 20-inch D2000 has been made official and will be launched later this year.

D2000 uses a combination of the parallax barrier 3D technology (sort of like the shifting 3D cards from cereal packages) and a built-in camera. The camera constantly keeps track of the location of your eyes and adjusts the 3D panel accordingly. This is a change from previous 3D screen made with parallax barrier technology that only gave a 3D effect from certain hot spots. With this combination of technologies you do not need uncool 3D glasses.
The monitor itself is 20 inches large and comes with a LED backlit LCD panels. LG did not issue other specifications.

LG also mentions 2D to 3D conversion technology but stresses that the best 3D effect requires real 3D content such as 3D movies or 3D games.
LG D2000 will be available later in 2011 – possible exhibited at IFA 2011 in Berlin this September. The price has not been disclosed.
