Philips 7606 with Easy 3D in stores

Philips 7606 is the successor to last year’s 7605 model, and in 2011 Philips is introducing Easy 3D (passive 3D). With Easy 3D Philips utilizes the much cheaper polarized 3D glasses.

LG was the first TV manufacturer to release passive 3D TVs (called Cinema 3D). Now Philips is taking the same route with Easy 3D and the new 7606 model.
Instead of using expensive active 3D glasses, Philips utilizes cheaper polarized 3D glasses, that you probably know from movie cinemas. Philips claims that Easy 3D has many advantages over active 3D such as: no flicker, no batteries, no crosstalk and less eye strain. Passive 3D systems have lower 3D resolution but our experience is that the difference is very subtle.
The 7606 range also comes with the Pixel Plus HD picture engine, LED, Ambilight and USB recording. In addition Philips has added the NET TV Smart TV platform with movie rental services.
Philips 7606 is now available across Europe in 32, 37, 42 and 47 inches. See prices below.
A 55-inch model will be available later this year. Learn more about Philips’ 2011 TV line-up here.
