Google and YouTube hopes to enter the TV business with exclusive TV shows on the YouTube platform. Google is planning to invest more than 100 million US dollars and are currently in talks with Warner Bros. and Fremantle Media.

According to sources, Google/YouTube is hoping to compete with TV networks with their own exclusive TV shows, thus providing users all-around the world with on-demand TV content.

YouTube TV shows might be heading to you Smart TV
The Wall Street Journal report claims that Google plans to invest more than 100 million US dollars in order to create different YouTube channels, each with a specific theme. The channels will primarily show professional-made and exclusive TV shows, but other videos from the YouTube network might be featured as well. The service will generate revenue from Google’s Adsense platform.
The sources claim that Google is making progress and that they are in talks with Warner Bros. and Fremantle Media to secure content deals. The move is also seen as a significant opportunity for smart devices such as Smart TVs where YouTube is a common TV App as well as in the new version of Google TV.
YouTube entered a movie rental deal for more than 3000 movies back in May 2011.
