Sharp says that they expect to top 1 million large-format (60 inches and above) TV sales in North America by March 2012. Sharp is also planning to release even larger 70 and 80 inch TVs world-wide.

Sharp sees huge demand for large-size TV sales in most regions, and especially in North America where Sharp expect to top 1 million sales by March 2012.
Sharp’s 70-inch TV
Sharp is overwhelmed with the high demand and their strategy to release large-size TVs at affordable prices has been extremely popular amongst consumers looking to replace their rear projection TV and as an alternative to a projector solution.
- "With only four months to go it looks as though we will make the 1 million mark in the U.S. alone," Kozo Takahashi from Sharp USA said in a note to Reuters.
Sharp recently lowered prices on their 60 inch TVs and shortly after Sharp introduced 70 and 80 inch TVs at affordable prices in the US. The 70 and 80 inch TVs will arrive in Europe and Asia later this year and in the beginning of 2012. Sharp also says that they expect demand to increase further in 2012.
