At CES 2012 Sony has unveiled two new Google TV products. The NSZ-GS7 Network Media Player and NSZ-GP9 Blu-ray player will both arrive on shelves in North America and Europe in early summer 2012 with the updated Google TV platform with TV apps.

The new Google TV boxes connect easily to a TV via HDMI and provide access to a variety of apps and the ability to browse the Internet on the TV screen through the Google TV platform.

The Google TV platform has recently been updated with Android Market that offers 2000 apps in categories such as games, music, sports, news, and more - however, only 50 specifically designed for the TV platform. Google highlights apps such as Netflix, Pandora, Google Music, CNNMoney, Flixster, and YouTube. Sony’s Google TV products will also come with Sony’s Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services.

Intuitive remote control
Both new boxes come complete with a redesigned remote control equipped with a backlit QWERTY keyboard, a touch pad for easy operation and a three-axis motion sensor for gaming.
The new remote also serve as a universal remote to control connected devices. The NSZ-GP9 even incorporates voice search powered by Google’s voice technology.

Apps for Android and iOS devices allow users to control the box and push media content, stored on the devices, to the TV screen.
Pricing and availability
Sony’s Network Player NSZ-GS7 and Blu-ray NSZ-GP9 will be available in North America and Europe in early summer 2012. Sony will expand to other countries and regions later.
