Buyers of the new Apple TV with 1080p can enjoy a new platform and new features but users of the old box can now also update their box to receive the new additions.
New life for old Apple TV
Apple has just unveiled the new Apple TV box with 1080p resolution, a new user interface, movies in iCloud and a recommendations system for movies and TV shows.

But users of the old box can now also enjoy the new features and the update is available for download now under the settings tab. All functions, except 1080p playback, is supported in the update.
