LG has announced a new service for their Smart TVs called 3D World. The premium app will let users access 3D content in over 70 countries through the Smart TV menu.

LG is now introducing a new app for their Smart TV, dubbed 3D World. 3D World will replace the currently available 3D Zone app, and let users access 3D content in categories such as entertainment, sports, documentary, kids, and lifestyle.

Once the content is selected, the TV will start streaming video over the internet. LG does not mention if the 3D World app will include full-length 3D movies eventually. Right now all 3D clips are available for free. All of LG’s 2011 Smart TVs and the new 2012 Smart TVs will have access to the app.
