According to Digitimes and industry sources, Philips is likely to reveal an OLED-TV at IFA 2012 in September. The OLED panels will be sourced from LG.Display’s OLED production.
Philips to unveil an OLED-TVs at IFA?
The rumor started back in February 2012, and has now be reiterated by Digitimes based on claims by industry sources. According to the sources, TPV Technology that recently took over the Philips TV brand will showcase an OLED-TV at IFA 2012 in Berlin.

In February, 2013 was mentioned as a possible launch window, and even though Digitimes’ report is unable to confirm this, it says that Philips will “showcase” (and not launch) the OLED-TV at IFA 2012.
The OLED-TV will reportedly use LG.Display’s OLED panels that are based on white OLED pixels with color filters. LG exhibited a 55-inch OLED-TV at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, back in January 2012. Sony is also interested in using LG’s OLED panels.
We have to underline that this is still a rumor but it is plausible. IFA 2012 will take place from August 31 to September 5, 2012 In Berlin.
