Walmart’s streaming service, Vudu, will expand to Latin America, Europe and Asia in 2012, according to Varity.com. Walmart hopes to gain advantage from their strong retail presence in over 5000 stores spread across 27 countries.
Vudu planning huge expansion
Netflix is by far the largest video streaming service but Vudu has experienced growth in the past few years, too. Now Vudu plans to expand their TV and movie rental service outside the US.

Vudu is coming to Latin America, Europe and Asia in 2012
According to Variety.com, Vudu will move into Mexico in June 2012, followed by 30 countries in Latin America, and later this year Europe and Asia. Walmart owns Vudu and it is expected that Walmart will use their strong retail presence to boost the adoption of the Vudu streaming service.
Netflix also expanded into Latin America in 2011 and started their European journey in early 2012. Vudu is not a subscription-based streaming service like Netflix but instead offers video rental and purchase.
